# Tools

|| The Tools tab allows you to customize what tools you have at your disposal in your World, by either choosing from pre-existing ones, or making your own. Use the sections at the top to navigate.

### 🔍 Explore

* Search through existing tools, categorised by what they are useful for - TTRPGs, Game Development, Writing, etc.
* Click on a tool to learn more about it. You can try it out, add it to your Library, or make a new document with it straight away.
* Some tools are available by default on new Worlds - [Maps](https://vvd.crisp.help/en/article/maps-akxl85/), [Canvases](https://vvd.crisp.help/en/article/canvas-13svpxt/), [World Graphs](https://vvd.crisp.help/en/article/connections-the-graph-eir68m/), [Timelines](https://vvd.crisp.help/en/article/timelines-1ky9csp/), [Relation Trees](https://vvd.crisp.help/en/article/relation-trees-1v7xebv/), Notes...
* Available tools are not exclusively vvd owned - users can make and publish their own tools too.

### 📚 Library

* Shows you the tools that exist in the current World.
* You can remove them from here. Even if you remove a tool, the documents made with it will not disappear.

### 🔨 Workshop

* Disclaimer: while the Workshop is beginner friendly, creating tools does require some technical knowledge about software development - users without this knowledge will not be able to use the Workshop.
* We've got an SDK and the documentation necessary to get you started.
* Pro and Studio tiers get API access.
* Publishing of custom tools is heavily moderated by the vvd team. Every submission will be tested and reviewed before it makes it to the public, and might get rejected if it doesn't meet our standards.
* User-made tools will remain the responsibility of the user who made them - this includes updates if they break, and managing the feedback received from them.
